Meet the Team

Drs. Ankur and Ruh Patel O.D. are co-founders of Upstate Vision Associates LLC. They met in optometry school at the University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry in San Antonio, TX in 2014. They graduated with honors in 2018. They have been practicing in the Upstate for two years now and are laying down their roots here in Greenville, SC. Both doctors have experience in treating and managing a wide range of various eye conditions. Our office and staff have the capability to diagnose, monitor, and treat various conditions. These include but are not limited to: different types of glaucoma, macular degeneration, corneal disease and much more!!

Ankur grew up in Aiken, SC. He graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2013 where he majored in Chemistry. During his free time, Ankur enjoys watching sporting events of all kinds and attempts to golf (He is always learning but not improving!)

Ruh and her family migrated from Ahmedabad, India to Toronto, ON in 1999. She graduated from York University in 2013 where she majored in Psychology. Ruh was nervous settling down in the south but with the help of her southern sweetheart, she is falling in love with what South Carolina has to offer! During her free time, Ruh enjoys learning new dishes to cook, catching up on The Bachelor, and has recently gained interest in watching football!
